The actual selection of programs to be funded is made by SDE in conjunction with the
Chancellor's Office. To ensure local coordination and guard against duplication of
services, the State has required grant applications to have a sign off of review by
representatives of the SDA, CEO and PIC. Since the Contra Costa County PIC lacks
County general funds to support employment & training activities that could be used
as the required match, submittal of proposals is dependent upon the local educational
partner or consortium having the requisite funding match. This authorization would
be consistent with past Board action. Based on past experience, staff would expect
four,to eight proposals will be submitted to SDE.
