'I Z Whv Bo—You Want To Be A Member of the Child Care Task Force? • I wish to be a member of the Child Care Task Force because I see in -it the possibility of improving and expanding the current child care programs in this area and thus making available to the community, better child care for our children. A great many parents in our community must work and must have not only adequate "babysitting," but , in pct , quality care giving for their children up to 12 hours a day. If the Child Care Task Force can assist in meeting this need , I wish to be a part of it . If selected, what might you contribute to the Task Force? I am a "people person," with a wide circle of friends , acquaintances and professional associations . I have been involved with Diablo Valley Montessori School in Lafayette for eight years and am a member of the American Montessori Society. Currently, I co-own a Montessori pre-school (0-6 yr. age group) in Concord and am actively involved with the parents . I am also a parent of a 9-year old boy and a 5-year old girl . I would bring with me to the Task Force the personal and professional views of the persons memtioned above , as well as my own. I interact regularly with the low-income single parents my pre-school serves and am especially cognizant of the needs of working single parents . My pre-school participates in the Food Program, thus making available well-balanced hot meals to our children and we accept referrals from the Child Care Council . I have a working knowledge of those community resources .
