Rather, I should say did not occur. This committee, comprised of both housing committee: members and community development members reviews applications and makes recommendations for Community Development Block Grant funding for housing projects such as the housing rehabilitation loan program I administer in the City of Pleasant Hill....Twenty different housing-related applications were scheduled to be heard last Plight, but gt ess what? Your.committee didn't even show up! With the exception of four responsible people (Darnell Turner, Mark Gallegos, Chuck Grant, and one other gentleman whose name I cannot recall), the other nine must have had better thins to do. Unfortunately, they didn't advise us applicants. I for one had to arrange for childcare last night -- needlessly. As a matter of fact, the entire portion of the committee devoted to housing were no-shows! Last night my application was second to be heard. Now I've been told that our twenty applications will be heard on November 30th, after the twenty already scheduled that night. (In other words, I'll be number twenty-two). Gee, that should put us well after midnight! I'm sorry to sound sarcastic, but I feel. that if we. as nrofe-sio lal.s ll2ve s>>hmitt-.ti n»+- applications on time, and have made thy effort to be at the County meeting on time, ther'i Ele least we can expect is for the committee. to- be there, too!
