Martinez, Executive Director DATE: December 6, 1994 SUBJECT: APPROVING SUPERSEDING PART I AND NEW PART II OF SECTION 8 HOUSING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS CONTRACT NO SF-468 AND 6 FXFCjjjTQN SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: ; ADOPT Resolution No. 3732 approving superseding Part I and New Part II of the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program Annual Contributions Contract No. SF-468, as amended, and AUTHORIZE execution of the amendment by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, as recommended by the .Advisory Housing Commission. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Contract authority in the amount of $150,811 and budget authority in the amount of $452,433 has been allocated to the Housing Authority to replace funding increment number CA39-EO11-036 of the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program until March 31, 1995. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The Housing Authority has received notification from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that $150,433 in contract authority and $'452,433 in budget authority has been allocated to the Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Certificate Program to provide sufficient funds to allow an extension to March 31, 1995 for funding increment number CA39-EO11-036, which expired on October 31, 1994. This Annual Contributions Contract funding increment extension gives the Housing Authority contract authority for dwelling rents and administrative fees for 19 dwelling units. In order to secure these funds for the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program, it will be necessary for the Board of Commissioners to adopt Resolution No. 3732. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should the Board of Commissioners elect to not adopt Resolution No. 3732, the Housing Authority would lose the funds allocated-for 19 dwelling units under the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program.
