Recently Contra Costa Water District and Cal Cities Water reached a settlement that provided for Cal Cities Water to continue to provide water service . to the Bay Point community. Given the changed circumstances, the Bay Point Redevelopment Project Area Community (PAC) and the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) were asked to consider whether the prior commitment of funds for water distribution improvements as part of a buy-out program should be maintained. The joint PAC/MAC recommendation was to rescind the prior commitment and free the funds for other purposes. In taking this action, the PAC/MAC indicated that water system improvements could be among the uses considered in the future, as well as other community projects .
