Nakashima 2640 San Carlos Drive Walnut Creek, CA 94598 BACKGROUND: Attached is a letter from staff to the Newcomers ' Task Force, noting a resignation from the Task Force and recommending an appointment to fill the resulting vacancy. The resignation was accepted by the Board of Supervisors on December 6, 1994 . Mr. Nakashima is one of the candidates who was interviewed when the Task Force was originally established. We are, recommending Mr. Nakashima' s appointment to replace Dr. Richardson. The Task Force reviewed and accepted the letter at the October 1994 meeting. The Members request that you review the letter and present it to the Board of Supervisors, or the Internal Operations Committee, whichever is appropriate, for their review and recommendation. Also attached is an application that was submitted by Mr. Jack Nakashima. Mr. Nakashima previously applied to be appointed to the Task Force. He has attended a few meetings as a representative from the Center for New Americans. The members of the Task Force ask that he be considered to replace Dr. Richardson. If there is a way to consider Mr. Nakashima, please advise. Thank you for your assistance.
