The Fire District has secured approximately $400, 000 in State funding under the Proposition 122 Seismic Program, and is intending to commit approximately $265, 000 of its own funds in conjunction with Redevelopment Agency funding to complete the seismic upgrade work. Improvements would be completed in 1995. In order for the Fire District to confirm the State funding in the next few weeks, a Statement of Intent on the part of the Agency would be useful at this time. To commit the funding, the Agency and the Board of Supervisors must hold a joint public hearing pursuant to Section 33679 of the Health and Safety Code. The January 17, 1995 hearing date will comply with the statutory requirement.
