5 . APPOINT as an alternate to the at=large seats on the Mobile
Home Advisory Committee for a term ending December 31, 1995 :
Jim Parkhurst
570 Marlesta Road
Pinole, CA 94564
BACKGROUND:
The Mobile Home Advisory Committee consists of 11 members, four of
whom are nominated by members of the Board of Supervisors,
representing mobile home park owners or managers (except for
District III, which has no Mobile Home parks in the unincorporated
area of the District) , four of whom are nominated by members of the
Board of Supervisors, representing mobile home park tenants (except
for District III, which has no Mobile Home parks in the
unincorporated area of the District) , and three of whom are
nominated by the Internal Operations Committee, representing the
public. Two of the "public" member seats are vacant as a result of
a death and a resignation.
Our Committee has recruited for these two vacancies and received
five applications . We interviewed four of these applicants on
December 5, 1994 . We have selected two individuals to fill the two
vacant at-large seats . We have also recommended that the other two
applicants be authorized to serve as alternates for the at-large
seats in case one or more of these at-large members are unable to
attend a meeting or in case a vacancy occurs in one of the at-large
seats, since the Advisory Committee has had some difficulty
maintaining a quorum recently.
