Bragdon Director of Community Development DATE: December 13, 1994 SUBJECT: Approve Transfer of Park Dedication Funds to the Contra Costa County Lighting and Landscaping District (LL-2) (Account#7784-4936-6X5297) for Park Improvements, Pleasant Hill BART Station Area SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS AMEND action of May 10, 1994 to authorize the Auditor-Controller to release up to $206,000 to the Contra Costa County Lighting and Landscaping District from the Park Dedication Trust Fund to finance the development of a pocket park at the Pleasant Hill BART Station. FISCAL IMPACT None. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS The Community Development Department has been working with the property owners, employees and residents of the Greater Pleasant Hill BART Station Area regarding the establishment of a pocket park. The park has now been named Fox Creek Park at Contra Costa Centre. AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR JKAh sral6/phbpark.bos n BY DEPUTY The proposed park is to be located on property owned by the Bay Area Rapid Transit District and Oak Hill Capital Corporation and leased to the County. On May 10, 1994, the Board of Supervisors authorized the allocation of Park Dedication funds in the amount of $195,000. The bids have now been received. A total of$206,000 is necessary to cover the cost of the project, including architect, County staff, permits, construction, and any contingency. An initial transfer of$40,000 to the Public Works Department Lighting and Landscaping District has been made to cover the cost of County technical staff, surveys and landscape architect. Subsequent transfers up to the$206,000 limit will be authorized by the Director of Community Development or the Deputy Director - Redevelopment.
