SUBJECT: BYRON AIRPORT TERMINATION OF MONTH-TO-MONTH LEASE WITH
ANTIOCH AVIATION ASSOCIATES
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE County's Manager of Airports and County Counsel to undertake
any legal action necessary to enforce the termination of the lease between County and Antioch
Aviation Associates at the old Byron Airport.
II. Financial Impact:
Rent payments of $840.00 per month paid to the Airport Enterprise Fund will be discontinued.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
Antioch Aviation Associates (AAA) leases land on the old Byron Airport pursuant to a month-to-
month lease. Upon opening the new Byron Airport, the old Byron Airport will be closed, including
the area leased by AAA. Termination of the lease with AAA is necessary to close the old Byron
Airport. A termination notice was served on the Tenant on December 5, 1994.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The lease with Antioch Aviation Associates will not be terminated.
