ADOPT Resolution No. 3730 approving superseding Part I and New Part II of the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program Annual Contributions Contract No. SF-468, as amended, and AUTHORIZE execution of the amendment by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Contract authority in the amount of $3,920,227 has been allocated to the Housing Authority to maintain the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program until March 31, 1995. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: i, The Housing Authority has received notification from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that $3,920,227 in contract authority has been allocated to the Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Certificate Progr'iam to provide sufficient funds to allows' the extension of the Annual Contributions Contract term to March 31, 1995. This Annual Contributions Contract gives the Housing Authority contract authority for dwelling rents and administrative fees for 4,327 dwelling units. In order to secure the $3,920,227 for the Section 8 Housing Certificate Program, it will be necessary for the Board of Commissioners to adopt Resolution,,. No. 3730. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should the Board of" Commissioners elect to not adopt Resolution No. 3730, the Housing Authority would Pose the $3,920,227 in funding for the Section 8 Housing Certificate and would be unable to operate the program to the March 31, 1995 fiscal year ending date.
