Dear Friend:
Governor Pete Wilson has appointed Melody A. Henriques of San
Bernardino, Robert J. Huntley of Westminster , and Truman Johnson, M.D.
of Riverside as members of the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board, Santa Ana Region. They replace Ira D. Calvert , Timothy
L. Johnson, and Charles C. Bennett, respectively. Their terms will
end on September 30 , 1996 , September 30 , 1993 , and September 18 , 1994
and compensation will be $100 per diem and necessary expenses .
Ms. Melody A. Henriques was a Realtor/Broker with George H.
Schnarre Real Estate, Inc. between 1986 and 1992 .
She is a member of the Serrano Middle School PTA, the Immanuel Baptist
Church, the Del Rosa Women ' s Club, the San Bernardino Valley
Associa-tion of Realtor , and the Board of Directors of _the San
Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District .
Mr . Robert J. Huntley is President of Huntley Management Services
of Westminster , a position he has held since 1984. Between 1977 and
1984, he was employed by the County of Orange as Chief of Personnel
Operations ( 1982-1984) , Assistant Director of Human Services Agency
( 1981-1982) , Chief of Labor Relations ( 1980-1981 ) , and Chief Executive
Assistant of District No. 1 . ( 1977-1980) . From 1967 to 1977 , he was
City Administrator for the City of Westminster . Between 1964 and
.1967 , he was Real Estate Director for Alpha Beta Markers. Between
1959 and 1964, he was City Administrator for the City of La Habra .
Between 1957 and 1958, he was City Administrator for Santa Paula .
From 1953 to 1956, he was City Personnel Director for Beverly Hills .
Between 1947 and 1953 , he was employed by the City of Los Angeles in
Personnel , Research , Training , and Budgeting .

Mr. Huntley received a Bachelor of Science degree (1945) , a Master of
Science degree ( 1947) , and a Doctorate in. Public Administration degree
(1974) from the University of Southern California School of Public
Administration in Los Angeles.
Mr . Huntley is a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors
Water Task Force, the Association of California Water Agencies , the
Water Association of Orange County, the California Special Districts
Association, and the American Society for Public Administration.
Truman Johnson M.D. is a self employed Otolaryngology, Head and Neck
Physician-Surgeon, a position he has held since 1963 .
Dr . Johnson received an Associates of Arts degree in 1954 from the
University of California in Davis, in 1955 he received a Bachelor of
Arts degree from the University of California in Berkeley and in 1958
he was awarded a Medical Doctor degree from the University of
California in San Francisco.
Dr . Johnson is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma XI, and Alpha
Omega Alpha. He is Chief Financial Officer of Riverside County
Foundation for Medical Care, Chief Financial Officer of Sterling
Administrative Services, and Director of the Monday Morning Group of
Riverside. He is a member of the Nature Conservancy, the Bahia
Corinthian Yacht Club, Ducks Unlimited, 21 Gun Club of Lakeview, the
California Water Fowl Association, the Riverside Chamber of Commerce,
the Economic Development Partnership, the American Medical Associa-
tion, California Medical Association, and the Riverside County
Medical Association.
These appointments require Senate confirmation. If you have a
position or would like to comment on Ms. Henriques, Mr . Huntley,
and/or Dr . Johnson, the Senate Rules Committee would like to hear from
