I. RECOMMENDED ACTION
ACCEPT 1993-1994 Head Start Family Child Care Research .anJDemon-
stration grant funds in the amount of $363 , 586 for the period of
September 30, 1993 , through September 29, 1994; and AUTHORIZE the
Director, Community Services Department, or her designee to execute
contracts on behalf, of the County with the following service
providers:.

II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding from this grant is for the period of September 30, 1993 ,
through September 29, 1994. An appropriation adjustment for the FY
1993-1994 portion of this grant will be forwarded to the Auditor-
Controllers office for processing.

III . CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
A decision not to approve these contracts will result in the loss
of contract related services to approximately 40 children and
families.
IV. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDED ACTION
This grant represents the second year of a three year demonstration
grant from the Administration for Children and Families to provide
full day child care to 40 program eligible families in East Contra
Costa County.
The above contracts will be reviewed and approved by County Counsel
as to form prior to issuance.
