Dear Chairman Tor kson:
The Orinda City Council at their Tuesday, September 28 meeting,
expressed concern that Orinda is in an extremely high hazard fire
area and now we are in the extremely high fire hazard season.
Because of these conditions, we would expect the normal level of
service of 3 fire fighters per engine company. However, we have
heard reported from our Commission that only 2 of our engine
companies have the necessary 3 fire fighters per engine.
Therefore, we request that the Board authorize this minimal level
of service to see Orinda through this critical season.
Our citizens are especially apprehensive when the media is
stressing all the additional staffing precautions being exercised
by our neighboring communities.
Thank you for a prompt reply.
Sincerely,
Bobbie Landers
Mayor
