APPROVAL OF THE FAMILY PATHS PROJECT GRANT BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND THE
OBEaRRIPMEWM••4 TY (GRANT # 92-1-XY-CA-122)
SPECIFIC REOUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)8 BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION
APPROVE and ACCEPT a grant (OCS 92-1-XY-CA-122) in the amount of
$250, 000 for the PATHS PROJECT to develop public and private
sectors committed to interagency collaboration, family centered
services and an integrated intervention and treatment model for
homeless prevention in the area of Pittsburg and West Pittsburg.
for the period of September 30, 1993 through September 29, 1994 .
AUTHORIZE the Director of Community Services or her designee to
contract for services as follows:

II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding from this application is already reflected in the
Department's 1993-1994 Budget. No County funds are involved with
this request.
III. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
A decision not to approve this grant could result in loss of much
needed services to families in Contra Costa County.
IV. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDED ACTION
This proposed action provides funding to the Community Services
Department to develop a program for interagency collaboration,
family centered services and an integrated intervention and
treatment model. This program concept has recieved support county-
wide. This grant is an award from the Office of Community Services,
U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and has a term of
three years. The amount of $250, 000 is the allocation for the
second year.
