SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS NO. 2, 3, and 4 FOR AIP 3-06-0008-05 & 06
AT CONTRA COSTA COUNTY-BYRON AIRPORT
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute Contract Change Orders No. 2,
3, and 4 to compensate'the Contractor, Ferma Corporation, for additional work at Contra Costa
County-Byron Airport.
Il. , Financial Impact:
These Change Orders require an adjustment of $35,269.82, $25,737.50, and $144,393.53 to the
contract price to date of $3,402,466.32 resulting in a Contract price of $3,546,859.85. 90% of the
project will be funded by the Federal Aviation Administration. The local 10% share will be paid out
of the Airport Enterprise Fund.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
These change orders will,include equipment stand-by, extra excavation, slurry backfill, PCC saddle,
the installation of PCC cap, PCC slab, PVC irrigation pipe, material excavation, airfield earthwork and
construction water fee for additional earthwork. These change orders were verbally approved by
the Federal Aviation Administration.
