HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01191993 - 1.6 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring ) February 6, 1993 as ) RESOLUTION NO. 93/18 Fun Fest ' 93 Day ) in Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS community activities discouraging the use of alcohol and other drugs lower the risk of substance abuse among young people, and; WHEREAS family standards discouraging the use of alcohol and other drugs lower the risk of substance abuse among young people, and; WHEREAS fewer problems with drug and alcohol abuse occur in communities where people have great attachment to the community, and; WHEREAS the citizens of Contra Costa County have adopted and implemented their own Alcohol and Other Drug Action Plan in each of the five regions of the ,County, and; WHEREAS organizations, groups, and individuals from all five regions of the County have come together to plan Fun Fest ' 93 - a celebration of each community' s progress in confronting alcohol and other drug problems and an opportunity to building momentum for the work still to be done; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS declares February 6, 1993 to be Fun Fest 193 Day and encourages the residents of Contra Costa County to attend the Fun Fest ' 93 celebration at the Richmond Convention Center.
