Davis School of Internal Medicine Department) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute on behalf of the County, Amendment #26-162-8 (University 89-06451V) to extend Contract #26-162-3 (as amended) with the Regents of the University of California (U.C. Davis School of Internal Medicine Department) through June 30, 1993, with a Payment Limit increase of $40, 000, from $260, 000 to a new total Payment Limit of $300,000 for the term of the Contract which began July 1, 1989. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded in the Department's Fiscal Year 1992-93 Enterprise I Budget. The services provided under this agreement are billable to patients and appropriate third party payors. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: For the past several years, the Board of Supervisors has approved contracts with the Regents of the University of California (U.C. Davis School of Medicine) for professional services in several medical specialties. Services are provided to County's inpatients and outpatients at Merrithew Memorial Hospital and Clinics by physicians who are U.C. Davis School of Medicine faculty members. On May 23, 1989, the Board approved Contract #26-162-3 with the Regents of the University of California (U.C. Davis School of Internal Medicine Department) for professional oncology services for patients treated at Merrithew Memorial Hospital and Clinics. Subsequent Amendments provided for additional oncology clinics and continued the contract through December 31, 1992 . R E C I T A L S WHEREAS, the parties have entered into that certain Agreement dated July 1, 1989, December 14, 1989, February 14,1990, September 11, 1990, June 30, 1991, February 4, 1991 and November 3, 1992 providing for University to furnish professional medical oncology services to County's MMH; and, WHEREAS, the parties now desire to amend Agreement in order to extend its term; NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree to amend Agreement as follows: 1. Paragraph C.2. -is hereby amended to extend the term of the Agreement for a six-month period beginning January 1, 1993 and ending June 30, 1993. 2.
