The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California Adopted this Order on_February 23, 1993 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Smith, Bishop, McPeak, Torlakson, Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Report on the 1992 County Employees' Combined Charity Campaign Joan Sparks, Director of the Community Services Department and Chairperson of the 1992 County Employees' Combined Charity Campaign, presented her report advising of the success of the Campaign with contributions totaling$219,439. Following comments and expressions of appreciation,there was consensus among Board Members that letters of appreciation be sent to members of the Charity Campaign whose efforts contributed to its success. THEREFORE, IT IS SO ORDERED. I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown. The results of contributions are as follows: United Way $146,020 Combined Health Appeal 44,215 Earth Share 29,204 Total $219,439 The commitment of County employees to continue donating to Bay Area non- profit organizations in difficult economic times is clearly demonstrated, as an example, by the following figures: Average increase of individual donations to the United Way: 1990 1991 1992 $51.24 $79.23 $89.20 1 greatly appreciate the confidence and support demonstrated by the Board appointing me as Campaign Co-chair in 1991 and the Chairperson in 1992. My service during both campaigns was personally and professionally very satisfying and I feel that we made meaningful contributions to the citizens of Contra Costa County.
