HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02231993 - 1.38 13V IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring ) Barbara Herendeen ) Resolution No.: 9 3/6 0 On Her Retirement After 13 Years ) Of Service to Contra Costa County WHEREAS Barbara Herendeen retired from 13 dedicated years as assistant to Supervisors Nancy Fanden and Jeff Smith; and WHEREAS Barbara Herendeen signed on to public 'service in January, 1980 as Supervisor Nancy Fanden's assistant in Martinez and attained the post of office manager; and WHEREAS Barbara Herendeen dispensed wit, wisdom, confidences, humor, information and above all, her own genuine brand of care and concern for callers on the end of Supervisor Fanden's very busy telephone lines; and WHEREAS Barbara Herendeen resolved constituent problems with a blend of creativity, diplomacy and an intimate knowledge of the people and programs of County, State and Federal government; and WHEREAS Barbara Herendeen found time to marry her husband, Len, and do her part in his law enforcement and Rotary activities, so that those organizations received the dual-duty participation of a County representative and interested spouse. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, hereby CONGRATULATES Barbara Herendeen on her retirement from County service, COMMENDS Barbara Herendeen as an exceptionally talented and conscientious public servant, and EXTENDS to Barbara Herendeen and her husband, Len, its best wishes for a pleasant retirement with time and energy for grandchildren, motor- homing, gardening, and charity fundraising, and all the other good works that full-time employment precludes. PASSED and ADOPTED this twenty-third day of February 1993, by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
