The Board this day considered the appointments to Board Committes, regional boards and commissions for 1994 in conjunc- tion with Supervisor McPeak's resignation from the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors effective March 31, 1994. During its discussion the Board agreed to amend its November 2, 1993, Board Order pertaining to its CSAC representation. Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that its action of November 2, 1993, is AMENDED by appointing Supervisor Bishop to the Board of Directors on CSAC for a one-year term commencing on December 2, 1993 , with Supervisor Smith designated as her alternate for the same period. SUBJECT: 1994 Board Appointments The Board on November 2, 1993 , , agreed to consider this day the selection of the Board Chair and. Vice Chair for 1994 and to also consider appointments to the various Board committees, regional boards and commissions as listed on the January 5, 1993, Board Order. Supervisor Bishop advised that since the November 2, 1993 , Board meeting she had considered the rotation of the Office of Chair of the Board of Supervisors, as set forth in the. January 5, 1993 , Board Order, recognizing the fact that Supervisor McPeak is resigning her position on the Board effective March 31, 1994. She advised that her major concern is not being Chair and fulfilling that obligation, nor the commitment made to the selection of Chair through the rotation process, but how she can best serve the Board and the County. She therefore recommended that Supervisor Powers assume the .position of Chair in 1994 with her assuming the position of Vice Chair (and subsequently, Chair in 1995) .. She further recommended that committee assignments be adjusted to appoint her to: a. . The position on the Bay Area Air Quality Management Board (BAAQMD) , currently held by Supervisor McPeak;. b. The Board's position on the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) at the conclusion of Supervisor Torlakson's term in May 1994; and c. The position on the Water Policy Consensus Committee currently held by Supervisor McPeak. Following discussion, there was agreement to appoint Supervisor Smith to the second County position on the BAAQMD, currently held by Supervisor Powers, should it become available. Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the recommendations of Supervisor Bishop are APPROVED.
