HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12071993 - 1.52 X'10a4d 6/trufe"W:wu C/ IN RECOGNITION OF . ] RESOLUTION NUMBER 93/688 DECEMBER 7, 1993 AS ] AIDS AWARENESS/POSTAL ] SERVICE APPRECIATION DAY ] WHEREAS, on December 1, 1993, in keeping with its social contract with the American people the U-.S. Postal Service has issued an AIDS Awareness stamp; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County has been a leader in the area of providing HIV/AIDS education to citizens of our community; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County has been a leader in establishing an ordinance prohibiting discrimination based on HIV/AIDS; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County recognizes the value of postage stamps in educating the public on important issues; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County and the Oakland District of the U.S. Postal Service has historically cooperated on a number of important community events; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that December 7, 1993 be designated as AIDS Awareness/Postal Service Appreciation Day in Contra Costa County. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on this 7th day of December, 1993 .
