Diablo Board of Education in November 1978 in a recall election in which three veteran trustees were removed from office; and WHEREAS, now, after being elected for three subsequent terms for a total of IS years in office, during which he served as President four times, Milton is retiring from the Board; and WHEREAS, before his election to the school board, Milton was President of the Parents' Club at Concord High School and a member of the committee that founded the Concord High School Band Booster Club in 1971; and WHEREAS, the Mt. Diablo School District is one of the largest school systems in the state, currently serving nearly 34,000; and WHEREAS, Milton is known for his thoughtful decisions and unwavering commitment to children; and WHEREAS, Milton and his family moved to Concord in 1970, and we are all fortunate to have benefitted from his dedicated community service and compassionate expertise for the past 23 years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares November 23, 1993, as MILTON LAMBERTSON DAY in Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON November 9, 1993, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
