HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11091993 - 1.77 1.179 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this order on NOVEMBER 9 . 1993 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Bishop, McPeak, and Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Smith ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: RESOLUTION No. 93/681 In the Matter of Adjusting Certain Head Start Classi- fication Salary Ranges Whereas the Community Services Director has advised the Office of the County Administrator that the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services has authorized competitive wage adjustments for certain Head Start classifications, effective January 1, 1993, now therefore, The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: Wages for employees in the following represented and unrepre- sented classifications will be adjusted in accordance with the below-listed schedule: A. WAGE ADJUSTMENTS - Effective January 1, 1993 Classification Class Code From Level To Level C.S. Bus Driver - Proj . 99S4 C5-1108 C5-1122 H.S . Family Services Asst. -P 9H75 C5-1033 C5-1053 H.S. Food Services Asst. -P 99B4 C5-0795 C5-0856 H.S. Parent Involvement Sp. -P 9956 C5-1419 C5-1517 B. LUMP SUM PAYMENT All employees who occupy a permanent position in any of the above listed represented and unrepresented classifications or who are authorized as limited term employees on November 1, 1993, shall receive a lump sum payment retroactive to January 1, 1993 . The lump sum payment will be computed as follows: January 1, 1993, through November 30, 1993 Employees regular pay, overtime pay and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base will be added together for each applicable pay period to a Retro Pay Base (RPB) . This base will then by multiplied against the percentage increase derived for each classification shown in paragraph "A" above. The payment amount computed will 'be issued as soon as possible by the County Auditor-Controller shown on an employee ' s regular 10th of the month pay check as a Lump Sum Payment, subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements . Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30.00 may contact the County Personnel Department to request a review of their lump sum payment. Upon such a request, the Auditor' s Office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible. 1 hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
