SUBJECT: Agreement between Contra Costa County Public Works Department and County
Redevelopment Agency for Brookside Drive Curve Realignment Project- North Richmond
Redevelopment Project Area.

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute an agreement with the County
Redevelopment Agency for the design and construction of the Brookside Drive Curve
Realignment Project located in the North Richmond Redevelopment Project area.
II. Financial Impact:
No General Fund money will be used on these projects. The Redevelopment Agency will
reimburse the County for expenditures up to the total agreement amount of$680,000 out of its
Bond Proceeds for the North Richmond Project area. The project is included in the Agency
budget, adopted for the use of Bond Proceeds.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
A major redevelopment activity in the North Richmond area is to improve and, upgrade the
existing infrastructure and circulation patterns. The Redevelopment Agency is funding this
project as one important step towards this goal.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The Brookside Curve Realignment Project may be delayed.
