III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
On June 2 , 1992 the Board of Supervisors unanimously
passed a resolution approving the Project CARE Contract
#29-502-1 from the California Department of Aging in
the amount of $30, 000. This contract requires the
Office on Aging to subcontract in the amount of $20, 000
with West County Senior Services Network. The Office
on Aging retains $10, 000 for the services it performs.
There is no required county match.
The Office on Aging's Contract with West County Senior
Services Network implements services to frail elders in
Richmond and San Pablo, as part of the second year
funding for Project CARE. In addition, the West County
Senior Services Network will help facilitate a
coalition to address the health service needs of these
seniors.
