APPROVE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR ELIGIBILITY FOR FEDERAL SURPLUS .
PERSONAL PROPERTY PROGRAM.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)6 BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Community Services Director to make
application to be considered for eligibility for the Federal
Surplus Personal Property Program and ADOPT the attached standard
RESOLUTION authorizing the Community Services Director, or her
designee, to acquire Federal Surplus real and personal property.
AUTHORIZE the Chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign the
Standard Resolution required by the State Department of General
Services, Office of Surplus Property.
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Community_ Services Director, or
designee, to sign application documents and contracts on behalf of
the County.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
None. This request could potentially offer much needed Federal
surplus equipment for the operation of programs. There are no
County funds involved with this request.
III . CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
A decision not to approve this application could limit the
expansion of much needed services for the families in Contra Costa
County.

IV. REASONS EOR RECOMMENDED ACTION
This proposed action provides the potential for the Department to
acquire equipment and property to develop new programs and
complement existing Head Start, Child Development and other
programs.
