SUBJECT: Transfer of Park Dedication to San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District .

I. Recommended Action:
Transfer $6,496.91 from the Park Dedication Trust Fund account # 8136/100335513 to San
Ramon Valley Fire Protection District for the renovation of the "Old Tassajara Schoolhouse."
II. Financial Impact:
None
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The community in the Tassajara area in coordination with the local fire protection district wants
to make certain structural and handicap improvements to the 102 year old, one story wood
frame schoolhouse. The improvements contemplated will be carried out by volunteer labor and
include: refinishing the floors, wheelchair ramp and restroom installation and complete painting.
These improvements will enhance the visual appeal of the structure and extend its useful life.
Total renovation costs are estimated to be $25,000. The balance of the funds will be through
donations and fund raising.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The project will have to be postponed until more funds are collected.
