Costa County .:.rills DATE: November 10/ 1992 —Cfl-liy �'j � SUBJECT: AGREEMENT TO HOLD THE ACALANES UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT HARMLESS FOR THE FISCAL UNITY SUMMIT - JANUARY 16, 1993 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute a letter to the Acalanes Union High School District, agreeing to join with the City of Walnut Creek to hold the Acalanes Union High School District, its Governing Board, the individual members thereof, and all District officers, agents, and employees free and harmless from any loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense that may arise during or be caused in any way by the use or occupancy of the property at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek during the Fiscal Unity Summit scheduled for January 16, 1993. BACKGROUND: The City/County Relations Committee is sponsoring a Fiscal Unity Summit at Las Lomas High School on Saturday, January 16 , 1993 . Walnut Creek Councilwoman Regalia has executed the hold harmless form for the Acalanes Union High School District on behalf of the City of Walnut Creek and has returned the form to the school district. The agreement among the members of the City/County Relations Committee was that the County would agree to hold the school district harmless providing one or more cities agreed to jointly, with the County, hold the school district harmless . On November 17, 1992, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors authorized me to send you this letter. The intent of this letter is to agree, with the City of Walnut Creek, to hold the Acalanes Union High School District, its Governing Board, the individual members thereof, and all District officers, agents, and employees free and harmless from any loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense that may arise during or be caused in any way by the use or occupancy of the property at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek during the Fiscal Unity Summit scheduled for January 16, 1993 .
