SUBJECT: Contract for Data Entry Services
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors to execute
on behalf of the County an agreement amendment with Data Entry Services , Inc.
extending the term of the contract from October 30, 1992 to January 31 , 1993
and increase the payment limit from $35,000 to $41,000.
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT:
If the recommended action is approved, it will not result in any increased
cost to Data Processing as the funds are included in the 1992-93 budget.
III . REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION AND BACKGROUND:
Oata Processing has been using outside data entry services for years to
meet schedules. County departments and special districts by the nature
of the operations are not able to flow their data entry work to Data
Processing Services on a continual basis. Consequently, we end up with
data entry demands at times during the month that can't be met by-. staff.
We have found the most cost effective solution to this problem is to use
outside data entry services so peak workload needs and schedules can be
met.
IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the request is not approved, Data Processing will not be able to
meet peak workload schedules.
