IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Honoring )
SUPERVISOR ROLLAND STARN on ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/730
the Occasion of His Retirement )
Supervisor Rolland Starn has been a member of the Stanislaus County
Board of . Supervisors since 1981. We wish to take this opportunity
to honor Rolland for his years of service to local government on
the occasion of his retirement.
Since 1988, Rolland has been an officer of the County Supervisors
Association of California (CSAC) . Serving as the 1990-91 CSAC
President, Rolland guided counties and CSAC through a then
unprecedented state budget crisis with skill and wisdom. Rolland
has also successfully co-chaired the Agriculture Committee for CSAC
during previous years.
Rolland' s background stems from the industry of agriculture. He
has owned a peach farm since 1946, which he operates with his sons.
His commitment to farmers is strong, and he is known statewide as
an agricultural advocate. Rolland' s talents are often sought when
the chips are down. He is a true "peach of a guy. "
It has been a pleasure to work with Rolland over the years. He is
an outstanding leader and has an extraordinary dedication to the
citizens of his community. We will miss Rolland among the voices
of local government and wish him happiness and success with his
future endeavors.
