SUBJECT: FY 1992-93 COUNTY SUBVENTION PROGRAM CERTIFICATE
OF COMPLIANCE AND MEDI-CAL COST AVOIDANCE PROGRAM
AGREEMENT
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign the
attached County Subvention Program Certificate of Compliance and
the Medi-Cal Cost Avoidance Program Agreement as administered by
the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) . Copy of
CDVA bulletin attached for information.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
CDVA estimates the FY 1992-93 Contra Costa County allocation for
County Subvention to be $30, 267 and $13 , 852 per sections 972 and
972 . 1 respectively of the Military and Veterans Code of Califor-
nia. The estimated allocation for Medi-Cal Cost Avoidance
activity is $29 , 329 per section 972 . 5 of the Military and
Veterans Code .
BACKGROUND:
CDVA administers the above two revenue programs per California
Code of regulations , Title 12 , Subchapter 4 . CDVA conducts
annual audits of our operations to determine if our workload is
consistent with reported workload activity. CDVA also performs
quality control review of work performed. The above agreements
enhance the county general fund.
