HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10271992 - 1.3 (3) 136 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commemorating ) "Native American History Month" ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/720 WHEREAS, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the landing of Christopher Columbus, we acknowledge and commemorate the histories and contributions of all Native American nations who founded and inhabited the Americas; and WHEREAS, life existed and flourished in these native lands whose indigenous people observed, enjoyed, celebrated, preserved and cultivated their traditions; and WHEREAS, for over five hundred years these native cultures have been suppressed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California, hereby designates the month of November, 1992 as "Native American History Month" ; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board will annually commemorate "Native American History Month" in the month of November in Contra Costa County. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on this 27th day of October, 1992 . I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
