MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: October 27, 1992 SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Change Order #3 for DA 29H, Lines A & A1, in the Oakley Area, Project No. 4660-6X4029-90 Specific Request(s)or Recommendation(s)&Background S Justification 1. Recommended Action: APPROVE contract change order #3 in the approximate amount of $1,100.00 and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to execute it in order to compensate the contractor, Antioch Paving Company for additional work. II. Financial Impact: The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover this contract change order. This project is funded by Oakley/North Brentwood Area of Benefit (9%), Ironhouse Sanitary District (42%), Flood Control Drainage Area 29H (46%), and State Local Transportation Partnership Program (3%). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Additional fence installation, not anticipated in the original design was required. The total of contract change orders 1 through 3 exceeds $25,000.00, requiring Board approval. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The lack of approval would preclude payment for work required to complete this project.
