HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10131992 - 1.21 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring ) October 17, 1992, as LIEUTENANT ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/686 ROY KINION, JR. , DAY in Contra ) Costa County ) Lt. Roy Kinion, Jr. , has been an employee of the California Highway Patrol for 27 years, with 13 1/2 of those years being spent in Contra Costa County. Lt. Kinion is now leaving the CHP, and we want to take this opportunity to honor this outstanding public servant on the occasion of his retirement. Serving as both a sergeant and a lieutenant allowed Lt. Kinion to gain insight to the people of the community. He often acted as a liaison between the public and the Board of Supervisors by championing their causes. Lt. Kinion' s dedication to the CHP is exemplary. In 1981, he did a feasibility study for using radar, which led to statewide use. He has also been Acting Commander several times. Lt. Kinion' s personable attitude and the knowledge he has gained from his tenure have earned him widespread respect from both his superiors and his. co-workers. His presence and input will be sincerely missed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares October 17, 1992, as LIEUTENANT ROY KINION, JR. , DAY in Contra Costa County on the occasion of his retirement from the California Highway Patrol and wishes him much happiness in this new phase of life and much success on the golf course.
