IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 9 2/6 7 3
Honoring John and Rose Gholson
on the Occasion of their 46th
Wedding Anniversary
WHEREAS,John and Rose Gholson were married on September 10, 1946. They will be honored
by their family and friends at a party celebrating their 46th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, October 10,
1992;
WHEREAS,John and Rose came to reside in Pittsburg in 1946 where they raised their five chil-
dren. They now have 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. All have attended or are attending
local schools;
John and Rose are both productive, caring and concerned about their community
and have been active in community affairs instilling pride and sense of community spirit in their children
and neighbors alike. They have served as wonderful role models for their family and friends;
WHEREAS,John served in the U.S.Army from 1942 to 1946 and was stationed at Camp Stone-
man. He is retired at 32 years of employment with the Naval Weapons Station in Concord;
Rose is President of the Parent/Teacher Association at Village Elementary School in
Pittsburg. She is retired after 24 years of employment as a nursing assistant.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors
does.hereby honor John and Rose Gholson on the occasion of their 46th Wedding Anniversary and com-
mends them for their dedicated and outstanding service to the community.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 6th Day of October, 1992.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and accurate Order entered into the minutes of afore-
said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
