Retain BART as a member of the Committee, with the understanding that their representative or alternate will be attending meetings of the Committee in the future. 2 . Retain the Ambrose Park & Recreation District as a member of the Committee, with the understanding that the District will appoint a member who is able to attend meetings. of the Committee on a more regular basis . 3 . Appoint Peter Dragovich, Associate Planner, City of Concord, as alternate to Councilman Byron Campbell and retain the City of Concord as a member of the Committee. 4 . Remove the "Commercial Representative" seat from the Committee, on the basis that their representative has attended only one meeting of the Committee and did not respond to recent contacts regarding remaining a member of the Committee. 5 . Add a seat on the Committee for the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Pittsburg, Inc. 6 . Appoint to the Committee, representing the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Pittsburg, Inc. , The Rev. Curtis A. Timmons . ATTESTED Contact: PHIL BATCHELOR,CLERK OF THE BOARD OF CC: County Administrator SUPERVISORS AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR Community Development Director Vicki Conklin, CDD BY DEPUTY I.O. - 2 BACKGROUND: Our Committee last reported to the Board of Supervisors on this subject on August 4, 1992, at which time the Board of Supervisors directed staff to contact those agencies which had not attended meetings of the Keller Canyon Landfill Citizens Advisory Committee at least 50% of the time to determine whether each of those agencies or organizations wished to continue to serve on the Advisory Committee. Vicki Conklin from the Community Development Department reported that each of the organizations contacted except for the Business Representative category wish to continue to serve and have agreed to either alter their membership, appoint an alternate or make other arrangements to insure that their attendance improves . We are, therefore, making the above recommendations . -2- CONTRA COSTA COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT DATE: August 31; 1992 TO: INTERNAL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE Supervisor Schroder, Chair Supervisor McPeak FROM: Vicki Conklin, Project Plann zk SUBJECT: FOLLOW-UP ON APPOINTMENTS TO KELLER CANYON LANDFILL LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (LAC) RECOMMENDATION: The LAC requests the Internal Operations Committee to recommend that the Board eliminate the seat for the Commercial Representative, and create a seat to represent the Inter- Denominational Ministerial Alliance of Pittsburg, Inc. , appointing Reverend Curtis A. Timmons to the Committee. BACKGROUND: On August 4, 1992, the Board authorized the LAC to send letters to organizations whose attendance at meetings had fallen below 50% in order to determine if they wished to continue to be represented on the Committee.
