BACKGROUND CONT.
have completed the intensive, home-based portion of the
Interagency Family Preservation Program. The purpose of the
Family Preservation Project is to continue family unity of
identified families that without help would result in one or more
children entering into foster care. These providers were chosen
through an RFP and authorized by the Board of Supervisors for an
initial 6 month contract on October 8, 1991 for a period of
January 1, 1992 through June 30, 1992 .
NEGATIVE IMPACT: Not authorizing this action will jeopardize
the continued unification of families and increase the cost of
foster care.
