FROM: Gerald S. Buck, County Probation Officer CQSta

DATE: September 8, 1992
SUBJECT: Juvenile Community Service Program Contracts
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the County Probation Officer to execute on
behalf of the County contracts with the Cities of Martinez and
Antioch and the Acalanes Union High School District for payment
for services provided to the afore-mentioned agencies by the
Juvenile Community Service Program for the period July 1, 1992
through June 30, 1993 .
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The fee-for-service contracts help to raise the revenue to
support the continuation of the Juvenile Community Service
Program, the costs of which are approximately 30% offset by fees.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
These contracts are part of a continuing effort by our Juvenile
Community 'Service Program to provide meaningful work . for minors
who have committed law violations and to generate revenue to
support the program. The City of Antioch and the Acalanes Union
High School District have agreed to pay $200 per crew per day for
this labor when provided and the City of Martinez has agreed to
pay $160 per crew per day. We need these contracts signed to
formalize the agreement and authorize the billing for services
rendered.
