Rose Manning .has been an employee and a leader within the Contra
Costa County Social Services Department for 30 years. Rose is now
leaving county service, and we want to honor this outstanding
public servant on ;the occasion of her retirement.
i
The focus of Rose's career has always been to help children. She
began, by doing various assignments within the Department, then
moved`up to providing the training for the Child Welfare staff. As
she continued to work her way through the ranks, she held the
positions of Children's Service Program Specialist, Child Abuse
Prevention Coordinator, Children' s Services Division Supervisor,
Children' s Services Chief of Special Operations, and eventually to
the positions of Assistant County Welfare Director and head of the
Social Services Department. Through it all, Rose' s dedication to
the children of Contra Costa has been unwavering. Our children
have been fortunate to have benefitted from her expertise and
compassion.
The Board of Supervisors is truly grateful to Rose for her 30 years
of commitment to serving the citizens of Contra Costa County. Her .
presence and input will be sincerely missed, and we extend our
fondest farewell and our best wishes for success and happiness in
her retirement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
declares October 9, 1992, as ROSE MANNING DAY in Contra Costa
County in honor of her retirement from county service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON October 6, 1992, by a unanimous vote of the
Board members present. /
