SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) i BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Deny the request to rezone the subject property by taking the following actions: 1. Accept the environmental documentation as adequate. 2. Deny application 12940-RZ rezoning 33.08 acres from Exclusive Agriculture (A-20 to General Agricultural (A-2) . 3 . Adopt the attached findings contained in the resolution of the San Ramon Valley Regional Planning Commission as the basis for the Board of Supervisors action. DISCUSSION This item was heard by the San Ramon Valley Regional Planning Commission on October 3 , 1991 at which time the Commission recommended denial of the rezoning request. The basis of the recommended denial of the applicant's rezoning application is that the project site is in the Tassajara area which has been known to be subject to ground water shortages and development would be incompatible with zoning on adjacent properties CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT: YES SIGNAT RECOMMENDATION OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECO ION OF'B- &RD COMMITTEE APPROVE OTHER SIGNATURE(S) : ACTION OF BOARD ON January Zd , 199Z APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER This is the time heretofore noticed by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors for hearing on the recommendation of the San Ramon Valley Regional Planning Commission on the request by Hasseltine Best (applicant) and Lee and Bette Vinson (owners) to rezone 33 .08 acres of land from Exclusive Agriculture (A-20) to General Agriculture (A-2) ( 2940-RZ) in the Danville area. Dennis Barry, Community Development Department, presented the staff report on the rezoning request, describing the site location, a brief history of the application and the recommendation for denial by the Planning Commission. He advised of a modification to the written staff report and he recommended that the Board refer this rezoning request to staff to fold it into the Countywide rezoning study. Supervisor Schroder expressed agreement with the modified recommendation of staff. ' 1 . The public hearing was opened and no one appearing the speak, the public hearing was closed. Supervisor Schroder moved to return the issue to staff for consideration. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that Rezoning application 2940-RZ is REFERRED to staff for consideration with the Countywide rezoning study. Supervisor Schroder requested that the following person be allowed to present comments for the record: Marilyn Haupt, 7300 Johnston Road, Pleasanton, expressed concerns including water and access with the requested zoning change.
