unrepresented employees for the period October 1, 1991 through September 30,
1993; and,
Whereas, the County Administrator has recommended that correction of certain

Whereas, agreement was reached June 1, 1992 between the County and the California
Nurses Association regarding salary adjustments for the period January 1, 1992
through December 31, 1993 which necessitates similar adjustment to the related
unrepresented class of Staff Nurse - Per Diem; NOW THEREFORE:
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing board
of the County of Contra Costa and all Districts of which it is the ex officio governing
board, RESOLVES THAT:
1. Effective January 1, 1992, the class of Staff Nurse - Per Diem (VWXB) shall
be allocated to the basic salary schedule at level C1 2130. Effective July 1, 1992 the
class shall be allocated to level C1 2160. Effective January 1, 1993, the class shall
be allocated to level C1 2199.
In lieu of retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation and processing
back to January 1, 1992 the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee
for the intervening months computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay
and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be
added together for each applicable pay period to determine the appropriate pay base.
For the months of January-June 1992, this base will be multiplied by 5%; for the
months July-August 1992, the base will be multiplied by 8% and combined to arrive
at the employee's total lump sum payment. The payment amount thus computed will
be added to the employee's October 10, 1992 paycheck where it will be listed
separately as a "Lump Sum Payment" and will be subject to normal tax withholding
and retirement deduction requirements.
Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology
exceeding $30 may contact the Personnel Department. The Personnel Department
and the Auditor's Office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as
soon as possible.
2. Section I.D (October 1, 1992 Special Equity Adjustments) of Resolution 92/107

Weights and Measures Inspector (BWHA) and Deputy Agricultural Commissioner
