SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY ADVISORY
COUNCIL
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint to the Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Council for
a term expiring November 30, 1994, representing and nominated by
the Deputy Sheriff ' s Association:

BACKGROUND:
The Board of Supervisors has created an Equal Employment
Opportunity Advisory Council and on December 17, 1991 agreed on a
method of allocating the two seats which are reserved for
employee organizations which was recommended by the Labor
Coalition for Health Care. Under this agreement, the first two
employee organizations which will be represented on the EEO
Advisory Council are the Deputy Sheriff 's Association and Social
Services Union, Local # 535 .
The Deputy Sheriff ' s Association has made their nomination to the
EEO Advisory Council and it would, therefore, be appropriate for
the Board of Supervisors to confirm this nomination by appointing
Mr. Arroyo to the Advisory Council. Mr. Arroyo' s applications is
attached, along with a letter from the President of the Deputy
Sheriff ' s Association.
