IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter Supporting )
a Train Station for ) Resolution 92/81
Crockett )
Whereas, traffic congestion on I-80 continues to worsen and
many solutions for relief are being considered; and
Whereas, during the interim period before BART is extended to
North Contra Costa and because the Capitol Corridor Amtrak train
route has been established; and
Whereas, access to this train route from Solano County and the
surrounding West County area could be enhanced by locating a
station in the community of Crockett; and
Whereas, use of a Crockett station would relieve overcrowding
at the Martinez train station and save AMTRAK bussing expenses;
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Supervisors of
• Contra Costa County that they support locating a train station in
Crockett; and
Be it further resolved, that the Board of Supervisors of
Contra Costa County urges the California Department of
Transportation and Amtrak to establish Crockett as a local stop as
soon as practical .

-present on February 11, 1992 .
