HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12081992 - 1.25 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 92/821 Acknowleding and Expressing Appreciation to the John F.Kennedy University Sports Psychology Program for Implementing a Challenge Camp at Byron Boys Ranch WHEREAS,graduate students in the Sports Psychology Program at John F. Kennedy University designed and implemented a Challenge Camp for twenty boys at the Byron Boys Ranch last August; WHEREAS, the purpose of the camp was to teach sport psychology mental training techniques that enhance athletic performance--techniques which program participants learn to apply in life situations helping them to maximize their potential as productive members of society; the camp provided an opportunity for these young men to challenge themselves physically and to increase their self-confidence through centering,imagery, self-talks and relaxation; WHEREAS,it was a mutually beneficial experience for both the young men and the graduate students; the following students participated in this program under the guidance of Gag Solt, Director of the Sports Psychology Program at JFK University: Darcy Heath,Laura Jacobson,Tonya Johnson,Rob Lathrop,Ben Lee,Tina Parley,C.A.Ramsey,Karlene Sugarman and Kim Schaefer. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 8th day of December, 1992.
