SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and, authorize the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute
on behalf of the County, Standard Contract #27-103 with James
Ringrose for the period from November 1, 1992 through October 31,
1993, with a payment limit of $40, 000, for consultation and
technical assistance with regard to planning and developing a
countywide Medi-Cal managed care system. This document includes
an automatic six-month contract extension for the period from
June 30, 1493 through December 31, 1993 with a payment limit of
$30, 000. 1
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Contract is included in the Health Services
Department's Fiscal Year 1992-93 Budget.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
James Ringrose is a health care management consultant who will
work in concert with Timothy Reilly, also a health care
management consultant (Standard Contract #27-104) to provide
consultation and technical assistance to the Health Services
Department in planning and implementing a managed health system
for Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Contra Costa County.
