November 5, 1991
Page 2
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The project involves upgrading existing flood control fencing adjacent to new fencing recently
installed as part of the San Ramon Creek Bypass Channel project. The upgraded fencing will
improve security of Flood Control right of way and will improve public safety.
Bids for the project were received and opened at 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez on October 3,
1991.
Other bids received were as follows:
1. $10,719.51 Delta Fence Co.
2. $10,318.00 Anchor Fence Co.
Four bids were solicited, and three were received.
The Chief Engineer has filed with the Board of Supervisors the Plans and General Provisions for
the subject project.
The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this project,
have been filed with the Clerk of the Board and copies will be available to any interested party
upon request.
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan. .It has been
determined that this project is exempt from CEQA requirements as a Class 1C Categorical
Exemption, in accordance with Section 15301 of the CEQA guidelines, because the project will
not have a significant effect on the environment, involves upgrading existing fencing, will not
result in the removal of a scenic resource, nor will involve the removal of vegetation.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The project will not be constructed.
