Calicura, Probation ) Supervisor I With the Contra Costa ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/695 County Probation Department ) WHEREAS Richard Calicura has retired from his position as a Probation Supervisor I with the Contra Costa County Probation Department and it is appropriate at this time to acknowledge his many achievements and to publicly recognize his professional leadership; and WHEREAS he began his Probation career in the County of Los Angeles in 1966 and on December 26, 1967 joined the Contra Costa County Probation Department, holding a variety of positions including Deputy Probation Officer, Senior Deputy Probation Officer, Probation Supervisor I , Director of the San Pablo Diversion Project and most recently as a Juvenile Probation Unit Supervisor; and WHEREAS Mr. Calicura has demonstrated remarkable skill in networking with numerous agencies throughout the County; served on the Contra Costa County Drug Abuse Advisory Board for 10 years, has been a member of the Northern California Juvenile Officers Association, has been a member and past president of the Contra Costa County Peace Officers Association; and thereby through his professionalism and expertise has earned the highest esteem and respect of his associates, his peers and staff; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes great pleasure in congratulating Richard Calicura on his 24 years of dedicated, faithful and valuable service to �the community and to Contra Costa County and wishes him many wonderful, exciting and fulfilling years of retirement. Attested October 22 ,1991 Phil Batchelor, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator By AmA A Deputy RESOLUTION NO. 91/695 iay IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the Retirement of ) Pete Fourkas, Probation Supervisor I ) With the Contra Costa County ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/694 Probation Department ) WHEREAS Pete Fourkas has retired from his position as a Probation Supervisor I with the Contra Costa County Probation Department and it is appropriate at this time to acknowledge and publicly recognize his professional leadership; -and WHEREAS he began, his Probation career as a Deputy Probation Officer on October 18, 1957, was promoted to Senior Deputy Probation Officer March 27, 1963 and has served as a Juvenile Probation Unit Supervisor from October 11, 1968 to the time of his retirement, during which time he supervised the West County Intensive Supervision Unit, the 601 Diversion Project and most recently an Intake/Investigation/Supervision Unit; and WHEREAS Mr. Fourkas has throughout his career demonstrated his professionalism and expertise, thus earning him the highest esteem and- respect of his associates, his peers and his staff; NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes great pleasure in congratulating Pete Fourkas on his 34 years of dedicated, faithful and valuable service to the community and to Contra Costa County and wishes him many wonderful, exciting and fulfilling years of retirement. Jackson, Probation ) Supervisor I With the Contra Costa ) RESOLUTION NO. .91/693 County Probation Department ) WHEREAS Willie Jackson has retired from his position as a Probation Supervisor I with the Contra Costa County Probation Department and it is ' appropriate at this time to acknowledge. and publicly recognize his professional and civic leadership; and WHEREAS he began his Probation career in Solano County on June 17, 1960 and on June 5, 1966 joined the Contra Costa County Probation Department, holding positions as a Deputy Probation Officer, Senior Deputy Probation Officer, Youth Activity Program Supervisor and at the time of his retirement was an Adult Unit Supervisor in the West County area; and WHEREAS he has always expressed a dedicated concern for the community, his staff and the effectiveness of the Probation Department; has been involved in the advisory board of the Greater Richmond Youth Advisory Group, Counsellors West, the California Black Correctional Coalition and thereby earning him the highest esteem and respect of his associates, his peers and his staff; NOW, . Costa County as a Deputy Probation Officer, holding a variety of positions, including Senior Deputy Probation Officer, Probation Unit Supervisor in Adult and Juvenile Divisions, Legal Cost Recovery Supervisor, interim Director of the Office of Revenue Collection, and from September 19 , 1988 to the present as Assistant Division Director; and WHEREAS Mr. Murakawa has served as a notable leader and representative of the Contra Costa County Probation Department by his tireless dedication to both his employer and his community, developed intensive supervision programs for both adults and juveniles, developed drug abuse prevention programs, has been an active member of the American Probation and Parole Association, and a member of the Mental Health Advisory Board of Contra Costa County; his professionalism and expertise have earned him the highest esteem and respect of his associates, his peers and his staff; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes great pleasure in congratulating Yoshio Murakawa on his 23 years of dedicated, faithful and valuable service to the community and to Contra Costa County and wishes him many wonderful, exciting and fulfilling years of retirement. Young, Probation ) Supervisor I With the Contra Costa ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/691 County Probation Department ) WHEREAS Colleen Young is retiring from her position as a Probation Supervisor I with the Contra Costa County Probation Department and it is appropriate at this time to acknowledge and publicly recognize her professional and civic leadership; and WHEREAS she began her Probation career on December 1, 1970 with Contra Costa County as a Deputy Probation Officer I which included a variety of assignments such as the coordinator of the Adult Community Services Program, Resource Officer and many others and that she was promoted to a Probation Unit Supervisor position on January 1, 1978; and WHEREAS Mrs. Young has served as a notable representative of the Contra Costa County Probation Department by her tireless dedication to her employer and the community; and has demonstrated professionalism and expertise which has earned her the highest esteem and respect of her associates, her peers and her staff; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes -great pleasure in congratulating Colleen Young on her 20 years of dedicated, faithful and valuable service to the community and to Contra Costa County and wishes her many wonderful, exciting and fulfilling years of retirement. ' WHEREAS Ms. Borum graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, is the author of numerous research publications and has presented papers at professional meetings throughout her career; and WHEREAS Ms. Borum has been actively involved in professional organizations and citizens ' advisory boards at the local, state and national level; and WHEREAS Ms. Borum is recognized for 24 years of dedicated :service to the Probation Department, appointed as a psychologist in 1967 , served at Acting Supervising Psychologist in 1985 and promoted to the permanent position of Supervising Psychologist in 1986; and WHEREAS Ms. Borum has capably helped the Probation Department' s professional staff achieve greater insight into their clients' families through consultation and diagnostic evaluations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board hereby expresses its appreciation to Elizabeth Ann Borum and extends to her its best wishes in retirement.
