Supervisor II With the Contra Costa ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/654
County Probation Department )
WHEREAS Rudolph Noble Webbe has retired from his position as
a Probation Supervisor II with the Contra Costa County Probation
Department and it is appropriate at this time to acknowledge his
many achievements and to publicly recognize his professional and
civic leadership; and
WHEREAS he began his Probation career in 1956 with Alameda
County Probation Department as a Juvenile Hall counselor and in
1964 joined the Contra Costa County Probation Department, holding
a variety of positions including Deputy Probation Officer, Senior
Deputy Probation .Officer, Delinquency Prevention Coordinator,
Director of the Youth Services Program, and from 1974 to the
present as Assistant Adult Division Director; and
WHEREAS some of his many accomplishments include organizing
and directing the Probation Department' s only Street Gang Program;
organizing and developing the Greater Richmond Youth Advisory
Board; planning and directing the activities of the Richmond Youth
Services Program, a joint Probation/City of Richmond delinquency
prevention effort; he was appointed by the Board of Supervisors as
a member of the County Alcoholism Advisory Board; serves as a
member of the San Pablo Discovery Center (formerly Richmond
Discovery Center) ; and is a member of the Citizen Advisory Board,
East Bay Hospital, Richmond; and
WHEREAS Mr. Webbe has served as a notable leader and
representative of the Contra Costa County Probation Department by
his tireless dedication to both his employer and his community,
has demonstrated remarkable skills in the timely and appropriate
networking of the Department with agencies, both County and
Municipal, was instrumental in effecting the move of his staff to
new quarters in San Pablo, and his professionalism and expertise
have earned him the highest esteem and respect of his associates,
his peers and his staff;
NOW., THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes great
pleasure in congratulating Rudolph N. Webbe on his 27 years of
dedicated, faithful and valuable service to the community and to
Contra Costa County and wishes .him many wonderful, exciting and
fulfilling years of retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE BOARD on October 8, 1991.
