HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10081991 - 1.2 (3) /-ao BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 91/6 5 5 Commending Mary Erbez upon the j occasion of her retirement as Assistant City Manager and City Clerk of Pittsburg VVHEREAS,Mary Erbez,a Pittsburg native who has given 43 years of exemplary and dedicated service to her community, will be retiring in October; WHEREAS,Mary joined the city in 1948 as a typist clerk. She worked as the payroll clerk,personnel clerk, assistant city clerk and personnel director; WHEREAS, in 1975 she was promoted to the position of assistant city manager from which she continued to manage personnel in addition to her added responsibility for municipal bond programs, labor negotiations, and department budgets; WHEREAS, Mary has been elected to ten consecutive terms as Pittsburg City Clerk since she first ran for the office in 1952; WHEREAS,during her 43 year career with the City of Pittsburg,Mary has been a positive role model for women in Contra Costa County; WHEREAS,she has played an important role in the efforts to bring new job opportunities to the city of Pittsburg and in revitalizating it's economic activities; WHEREAS, she has always been a devoted wife to husband John and a devoted mother to children George, Denise and David; WHEREAS,retirement will afford Mary the opportunity to travel with her husband and spend more time with her family; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CON-_ TRA COSTA COUNTY,CALIFORNIA,does hereby congratulate Mary Erbez upon her retirement and commends her for her many years of dedicated service to the community and extends warmestwishes for many happy, healthful years to enjoy said retirement. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 8th day of October, 1991. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
